Sharmina Afsal is an Indian professional makeup artist, beauty educator, and women's empowerment advocate. Early life and education
Sharmina Afsal was born and raised in a village in the Palakkad district of Kerala, India. She grew up in a financially constrained household and developed an interest in creative arts from an early age. During her childhood and adolescence, she explored activities such as drawing, fashion design, mehndi design, jewelry creation, and bridal styling.
She later pursued higher education and earned a Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) degree.
Career
Following the completion of her education, Sharmina relocated to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, where she worked in the corporate sector, including positions related to immigration consulting and banking.
After working in corporate roles, she transitioned into the beauty industry, beginning as a mehndi artist and nail artist in Dubai. She subsequently undertook professional training in beauty and makeup services and later returned to Kerala to pursue advanced training in bridal makeup artistry.
Sharmina established herself as a bridal makeup professional serving clients in both Kerala and the UAE. Her work includes bridal makeup, high-definition makeup techniques, beauty consultation, and related aesthetic services. She later joined KEL Signature Salon & Spa as a professional makeup artist.
Advocacy and community work
In addition to her professional activities, Sharmina has participated in beauty education initiatives aimed at supporting women from economically disadvantaged and conservative backgrounds. Through workshops, beauty training programs, and online educational content, she promotes skills development and entrepreneurship opportunities for aspiring beauty professionals.
