Raj Shamani (born 29 July 1997) is an Indian entrepreneur, podcaster, investor, author, and content creator. He is best known for hosting the business and self-improvement podcast Figuring Out with Raj Shamani, where he interviews entrepreneurs, politicians, business leaders, and public figures. He is also the founder of Shamani Industries and co-founder of House of X.[1]
Early life and education
Raj Shamani was born on 29 July 1997 in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India, into a Sindhi business family. During his teenage years, his family reportedly faced financial difficulties after his father suffered health complications, leading Shamani to become involved in the family business at an early age.[2]
He attended Emerald Heights International School in Indore and later studied at the Prestige Institute of Management and Research.[3]
Career
Entrepreneurship
Shamani began his entrepreneurial journey at the age of 16 by selling dishwashing liquid products under the brand name Jadugar Drop. The venture later merged into the family business and evolved into Shamani Industries, a manufacturer and distributor of household cleaning products including detergents, floor cleaners, and dishwashing solutions.[4]
He later co-founded House of X, a company focused on helping digital creators launch consumer brands and scale direct-to-consumer businesses.[5]
Apart from entrepreneurship, Shamani has invested in several Indian startups and is active as an angel investor.[6]
Podcasting and media
In 2021, Shamani launched the podcast Figuring Out with Raj Shamani which focuses on entrepreneurship, finance, technology, personal development, and current affairs. The podcast gained popularity for its long-form interviews featuring prominent personalities from business, politics, entertainment, and sports.[7]
His podcast has featured guests including philanthropist and Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, French President Emmanuel Macron, entrepreneur Vijay Mallya, and Indian government ministers.[8]
Shamani became widely recognized for his motivational and business-focused content on YouTube and Instagram, where he shares insights on entrepreneurship, money, self-growth, and productivity.[9]
Public speaking
Shamani has delivered speeches at business forums and international conferences. He represented India at the United Nations Youth Assembly at a young age and has spoken on entrepreneurship and youth leadership.[10]
