Nahiyan Zaman Sammo
Nahiyan Zaman Sammo (born 16 January 2009) is a Bangladeshi writer, poet, and cultural activist, widely recognized for his literary contributions and leadership in youth cultural engagement. He is the founding president of Rupam – A Cultural Forum and currently serves as the Cultural Prefect at Dhaka Residential Model College.
Early life and Education
Nahiyan was born in Alfadanga, a subdistrict of Faridpur, Bangladesh, to government employee parents, Mollah Kamruzzaman and Shamima Nasrin. Encouraged early on, he started writing poems at age eight during Grade 2. He is a student at Dhaka Residential Model College, where—despite joining as a new residential student in Grade XI—he was elected Cultural Prefect.
Writing and Cultural Activism
He regularly writes poems and short stories published in national dailies and weeklies. His first poetry collection, Nokkhotrer Noishobdo, is praised for its lyrical depth and philosophical insight, exploring themes like silence, existence, and beauty.
In 2024, he founded Rupam – A Cultural Forum, a youth-led platform promoting creative expression and Bengali culture. As Cultural Prefect of his college, he leads and organizes cultural programs, inspiring student engagement.

Personal Life
Nahiyan attributes his worldview to the support of his parents, Mollah Kamruzzaman and Shamima Nasrin. Beyond literary and academic pursuits, he works toward societal betterment through culture and writing.
