Khulna is the administrative centre of ten districts in the Khulna Division of Bangladesh. It is in the country's southwestern part and is Bangladesh's third most significant metropolis, following Dhaka and Chittagong. Khulna is one of the divisional metropolises of Bangladesh and serves as the central city of the Khulna Division. The town is located along the banks of the Rupsa, Bhairab, and Mayur rivers.
