Edwin Miranda Reyes (born July 6th,1972) is an American author and Entrepreneur.


Early life and education[edit | edit source]

Miranda was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on July 6, 1972. In 1990, he graduated from Sacred Hearts Preparatory School in San Juan. He completed his bachelor's degree in business administration at Interamerican University in Puerto Rico. In 2014, he pursued executive education at the MIT Sloan School of Management. Miranda commenced his career at NATCOM as a promoter, swiftly ascending to Manager and later Vice President in under two years. In 1993, Angelo Media appointed him as the VP of Business Development. In May 1994, Miranda founded his advertising agency, initially known as KOI, later rebranded as KOIIXS and subsequently IXS. The agency boasted a diverse clientele spanning pharmaceuticals, banking, real estate, hospitality, and telecommunications industries.

In 2008, he established FP+1, a sister advertising and consultancy company focusing on political clients. He played a pivotal role in the successful election campaigns of two Puerto Rican Governors, Luis Fortuño and Ricardo Rosselló.

In 2019, both of Miranda's companies thrived. However, during the summer of 2019, following the Telegamgate scandal, both entities ceased operations.

Relocating to Miami with his family in 2020, Miranda ventured into franchising and founded the Miami Franchise Group. The company quickly became one of the fastest franchise operators in the nation, receiving accolades and distinctions from the brands they represent. In 2023, he co-founded Miami Transport Group with his son Marcelo, specializing in luxury transportation services.

He has received numerous awards in his career:

  • The Theodore Moscoso Award from the Puerto Rico Chamber of Commerce (2003)

  • Gold Award - Best International Campaign (SME Digital) from the Sales and Marketing Executives Association (2018)

In 2017, after the devastating effects of Category 5 Hurricane Maria devasted the Island of Puerto Rico, he co-founded the organization Unidos por Puerto Rico to raise money for NGOs to help the island's short-mid, and long-term recovery. He co-produced the song, video, and telethon to support the effort.
