Patrick started playing squash at a young age of 7 years old as himself and his parents were members of the Royal Lake Club. Squash was introduced to him by his parents however due to his age, he was unable to carry and play with a squash racquet because of its weight. Patrick used a badminton racquet and a ping pong ball instead fo build his strength and build his squash movements. At a young age of 9-10 years old he then started challenging and beating adult members of the Royal Lake Club and used to choose his opponents based on their ranking in Club Squash Competitions. His journey began from Club Tournaments to State Competitions to National Championships. |

At 11 years old, Patrick joined the Malaysian National Squash team and won the National Under-13 championship whilst winning the South Asian Pacific Squash Championship in Australia a year later at 12 years old.
