Brenda Jensen

Brenda Marie Jensen (born 2 March 1991) is a German public health researcher specializing in occupational health, stigma, and the health impacts of digital labor, particularly in the context of sex work. She is currently the Research Lead for Health and Digital Labor at Erobella, a Berlin-based organization focused on advocacy, research, and services for sex workers.

Early life and education

Brenda Jensen was born in Malmö, Sweden. She studied sociology at Lund University, earning her BA in 2015. In 2021, she completed a Master of Science in Public Health at the University of Bielefeld, Germany, where she focused on health equity and access to care for marginalized populations.

Career

Jensen began her public health career in program evaluation and research roles, working with municipal health authorities and NGOs in Germany. From 2019 to 2021, she served as a program evaluator at Frauenrechte e.V. NRW, focusing on gender equity and harm reduction. She then worked as a research assistant at the Gesundheitsamt Bielefeld between 2021 and 2022.

In January 2023, Jensen joined Erobella as Research Lead for Health and Digital Labor. Her work at Erobella centers on empirical research into the health, safety, and psychosocial wellbeing of sex workers in Germany. She has been instrumental in designing and analyzing large-scale participatory research, including the Erobella Sex Worker Wellbeing Survey 2024, one of the most comprehensive datasets on sex worker health in Europe.
