Continuing with the tradition started in the [[Marvel Comics]] Micronauts stories, he is depicted as a heroic character, despite the Acroyear being villains in the Micronauts toy line. [[Phenolo-Phi]] and a seeming malfunctioning robot were being delivered to prison by Acroyear Torren Pellum when the robot revealed itself to be the combined form of [[Betatron]] and [[Gammatron]], agents of [[Baron Karza]]. The robots used explosives to break Karza out of prison along with the Time Traveler [[Quin-Tillus]] and escape though a space bridge. Phen joined with Pellum, prison guard [[Oberon]], robot [[Biotron]] and prisoner [[Xant]] in following Karza though the bridge to capture him. Once on Earth they found themselves in the garage of Cameron Ruck.
