The Thorium Orbiter is a fictional vehicle in the Micronauts series introduced in 1977.

The Thorium Orbiter was pictured on the toy box being piloted by an orange Pharoid.

Development

The Thorium Orbiter toy was designed by Iwakichi Ogawa and was filed for US patent in 1977.[1]

Mego released the Thorium Orbiter in 1976. It was also released by Airlift and Grand Toys.

Comics

1979 Marvel Comics

In issue 1 Thorium Orbiters pursued the Micronauts ship Endeavor.

Thorium Orbiters are among Baron Karza's fleet when it invaded Earth in issue 27 of the Marvel Comics Micronauts series.

2018 Micronauts Protectors of Inner Space

Thorium Fighters, inspired by Thorium Orbiters, appear in the 2018 art series Micronauts Protectors of Inner Space by Brian Vox. They appear on the cover of issues 1-2, 7, 11 and 12.
