Thae Su Nyein (သဲစုငြိမ်း; born 24 May 2007) is a Burmese beauty queen, actress, and commercial model. She was crowned Miss Grand Myanmar 2024. She represented Myanmar at the Miss Grand International 2024 competition, where she placed as the second runner-up.

Early Life and education

‎Thae Su Nyein was born on 24 May 2007 in Taungoo Township, Bago Region, Myanmar. She is the elder of two siblings

Career

Thae Su Nyein began her pageantry career at the age of 16, making her one of the youngest contestants in Myanmar’s beauty pageant scene. She represented Myanmar at the Miss Grand International 2024 competition and achieved notable success.^[1]^[2]

Following the competition, she transitioned into the entertainment industry.^[3]^[4] She began working as an actress and commercial model, appearing in films and advertisements in Myanmar.^[5]^[6]^[7]^[8]^[9]

Miss Grand Myanmar 2024

‎In December 2023, Thae Su Nyein competed in the Miss Grand Myanmar 2024 national beauty pageant.Representing Taungoo, she was crowned Miss Grand Myanmar 2024, earning the right to represent Myanmar at the international level.^[10]^[11] ‎

Miss Grand International 2024

‎As the national titleholder, Thae Su Nyein represented Myanmar at the Miss Grand International 2024 pageant, held in Bangkok, Thailand. She achieved notable success, finishing as the 2nd runner-up.^[12] During the preliminary and final competitions, she also received several special awards, including the Miss Beauty Skin Award, Miss I'Aura Queen Award, and Miss Fan Vote Award in October 2024.^[13] ‎ ‎On 25 October 2024, at the final event, Thae Su Nyein was named among the Top 10 semifinalists.^[14]^[15]^[16]^[17]^[18] The pageant concluded with India’s Recha Gupta winning the international crown, while Thae Su Nyein placed as the second runner-up.^[19]^[20]^[21] ‎

Dethronement

‎On 28 October 2024, the Miss Grand International Organization officially revoked Thae Su Nyein’s title as 2nd runner-up^[22] at Miss Grand International 2024. The decision was reportedly due to actions taken by both Thae Su Nyein and her national director,^[23]^[24] which were deemed to have violated the organization's rules and regulations.^[25]
