Template:Person biography

Use this template to on the article page about a renowned person to summarise basic biographical facts. Instructions How to use it: Copy the "empty" template below and paste it in the article about a renowned person. Fill in some parameters and preview the result; when you're satisfied, save it. Note that all parameters are optional: when the information is unknown or not relevant, just don't fill the corresponding parameter. Parameters name The person's most usual name as known in English. If left empty, the article page name will be used. nativeName The person's name in their own language (if different from the usual name by which the person is known in English) familyName The person's family name is usually the last name. Beware of East Asian names where the family name comes first! givenName The person's given name is usually the first name. birthName The person's official name at birth, in case it has changed since then. alsoKnownAs Other names by which the person is known. image The file name of an image. image2 The file name of a second image (both images will then be displayed smaller, side-by-side). caption A caption displayed below the images (there is only one caption, even when two images are shown) birthDate The date of the person's birth. birthPlace The place where the person was born. deathDate The date of the person's death. deathPlace The place where the person died. nationality The person's nationality (or nationatlities). occupation The person's main occupation(s). It would typically be a profession, possibly a hobby by which the person is known. notableWorks Some of the person's most notable works, like their major chef-d'œuvre. awards Awards, honours. knownFor What the person is known for, especially if not by their special occupation or for notable works.
