sunsetto, born Kyle Mischiek, is a Canadian singer, songwriter, and producer from Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. Growing up, he was passionate about music and skateboarding, fostering a sense of creativity and self-expression. Initially exploring guitar and piano, he later gravitated toward beat-making and rapping in high school. His songwriting skills were further refined through participation in camps led by Grammy and Juno Award-winning songwriter Gordie Sampson.
Career
sunsetto debuted in 2020 with his single "don't leave," which quickly gained traction and amassed hundreds of thousands of streams. His unique fusion of dance, rap, R&B, and alternative pop, combined with introspective lyrics, has set him apart in the music industry.
In 2024, he released his debut album, "The Sun, The Moon & The Big Machine," a conceptual project exploring themes of love, ambition, and the complexities of the digital age. The album, recorded between Los Angeles and Toronto, features standout tracks such as "CROSSFIRE," co-written and produced by 9AM, and other singles like "PLANS" and "BIG MACHINE."
His music continues to captivate audiences, blending heartfelt storytelling with innovative production, positioning him as a rising force in alt-pop.
