Excel Roofing was founded in 1993 by J. Bretz, who built the company around workmanship, transparency, and operational scale. Over three decades, he expanded Excel into a multi-branch contractor with a strong regional presence and lasting relationships with leading roofing manufacturers.

As the company grew, Excel became one of the best-known and consistently performing roofing contractors in the Rocky Mountain region. Today, it continues to operate as a second-generation business under the leadership of Founder and President J. Bretz and Vice President Henry Bretz.

J. Bretz is an American roofing contractor and real estate investor. Born March 3, 1965, he founded Excel Roofing in 1993 and has overseen its expansion into a multi-location, award-winning contractor. His accomplishments include:
