Sharon MacIvor (born August 27, 1958) is a seasoned American veterinarian, entrepreneur, and licensed real estate professional. She is the co-founder of Iron Paws, a leading pet health brand known for its human-grade superfood supplement for dogs. With a veterinary career spanning over three and a half decades, Dr. MacIvor is also the founder of Vetcalls LLC, a concierge-style telemedicine company for pets, and is recognized for her leadership and innovation within the veterinary field.

Early Life and Education

A native of Miami, Florida, Sharon MacIvor began her academic journey at Barry University, earning her bachelor’s degree in 1982. She went on to receive her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University in 1988. In 1999, she obtained certification in Embryological Transfer and Artificial Insemination from the University of Guelph in Canada, and later completed AAHA-certified CO₂ Laser Surgical training in 2011.

Career

Dr. MacIvor has dedicated over 36 years to veterinary practice, specializing in internal medicine, emergency care, and pet longevity. She spent many years providing relief services across Miami-Dade County before establishing her own clinic, Dadeland Animal Hospital.

As co-founder of Iron Paws, she developed a veterinarian-formulated supplement that combines 19 active superfood ingredients to promote dogs’ digestion, mobility, immunity, and overall health. The product is manufactured in an FDA-registered facility and reflects her passion for long-term wellness solutions for pets. A portion of all sales is donated to help rescue and care for shelter dogs.

In addition to Iron Paws, Dr. MacIvor leads Vetcalls LLC, offering personalized veterinary teleconsultations to pet owners. She also provides consulting services to several companies in the pet health industry, contributing her expertise in clinical care and product development.

Her leadership roles include serving as Medical Director for the Greater South Florida Humane Society from 2014 to 2018, and holding board positions with the South Florida Veterinary Medical Association (2012–2018), including time on its executive committee. She also served on the board of Zoo Miami.
