BIOGRAPHY

Samuel Kalloka Jacob was born on March 03, 2000, in the refugee Camp of Kakuma. They grew up listening to Travis Scott and Xxx; Kodak Black’s 2018 debut album was the first album they purchased. Sammy later began listening to XxxTentacion and Juice Wrld, who influenced their future style. They also began listening to Lil uzi vert, Kodak Black, and NBA youngboy when they were 16 years old. Sammy dropped out of school and soon started working at a Domino’s Pizza store, but quit after 2 weeks and was kicked out of their home by their family. The situation led to Sammy forgetting to maintain self love leading to a messy hair style, the word "KTA" under their Skin, which provoked them to take their rap career seriously.

MUSICAL STYLE

Sammy has been consistently been considered to be avant-garde by critics and journalists. Melbourne called Sammy"one of those names to pay attention to in 2025", and Spin wrote "the 24-year-old has solidified [their] spot as one to watch" with their "signature rapid delivery." Vanessa Thi called them "articularly charismatic", a "natural entertainer" who is "for better or for worse, yanking people into the future."Music Valley called them an "unlikely superstar", highlighting that Sammy "has rejected convention at every step of [their] young career." Sammy’s style of rap has been compared to rock music, as well as being labeled with the terms emo rap and punk rap. They have also been described as a lo-fi rapper and compared to rapper Juice Wrld. Sammy has called themself a "Massive Blues fan" SammyKTA has been repeatedly characterized by having no tattoos, eccentric hairstyles and androgynous fashion, imagery built on a melodic approach to trap. Influences Sammy calls Xxx & Juice Wrld their "greatest inspiration". They are also a fan of the band Slipknot, In an interview with Music Valley, Sammy cited A few students of the group (with whom they collaborated on and the Ying Yang Twins as influences.
