As a result he is badly damaged, and when the Autobots retreat to Cybertron he and several other fallen Autobots are dumped into space, where they encounter Unicron. Though he is initially resistant to Unicron's offer to cleanse his mind of chaos, he later relents after Unicron shows him a vision of his "greatest victory" and accepts reformatting into Nova Prime, leader of the Knights of Unicron.
