His work blends elements of hip-hop, R&B, and pop, drawing inspiration from 90s legends like Big Moe, Nate Dogg, Richie Rich, and Houston’s Screwed Up Click, as well as global icons such as Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Tupac Shakur, and The Eagles.

Early Life Orend Johnson Jr., professionally known as Optimistic Gangsta, grew up in Houston, Texas. His grandfather played a significant role in fostering his love for music, introducing him to the culture of classic Black soul and gospel as they listened to records together in the family living room. This early exposure instilled a deep appreciation for music's cultural and emotional depth.
