Nicole Junkermann (born 27 April) is a German entrepreneur, investor and philanthropist. She is the founder of NJF Holdings, an international investment company with interests in venture capital, private equity and real estate, and NJF Capital, its venture investment arm. She is known for investments in artificial intelligence, healthcare, biotechnology, fintech and deep technology.
Junkermann has invested in numerous technology companies, including SpaceX, Revolut, Rippling, Lendable and Owkin. She has also been involved in sports media, healthcare innovation and emerging technologies.
Early life and education
Nicole Junkermann was born in Düsseldorf, Germany. She is the daughter of entrepreneur Heinz Junkermann and spent much of her childhood in Marbella, Spain.
She studied Business Administration and Management at the International University of Monaco. She later completed executive education at Harvard Business School in the United States.
Career
Early ventures
Junkermann began her business career in the late 1990s and became involved in technology and media investments. In 1998, she co-founded the online gaming company Winamax.
In 2002, she participated in the acquisition of Infront Sports & Media alongside businessman Robert Louis-Dreyfus. During her involvement, the company expanded its international sports rights portfolio, including FIFA-related broadcasting and marketing agreements.
In 2011, Infront Sports & Media was acquired by Bridgepoint Capital in a transaction valued at approximately US$600 million.
NJF Holdings
Following the sale of Infront, Junkermann founded NJF Holdings in 2012. The company operates internationally and focuses on venture capital, private equity, real estate and strategic investments.
