Mahabub Sultan ( January 1994) is a Bangladeshi aeronautical engineer, data scientist, and PhD candidate in Aeronautical & Astronautical Science & Technology.

Early life and education

Mahabub Sultan was born in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He received a Bachelor of Engineering in Aeronautical Engineering from Northwestern Polytechnical University in Xi’an, Shaanxi, China, in June 2016. He then earned a Master’s degree in Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering from the École nationale supérieure de mécanique et d'aérotechnique in Chasseneuil-du-Poitou, France, in July 2018. In January 2024, he enrolled at SUNY Buffalo State University in Buffalo, New York, to pursue a Master of Science in Data Science and Analytics, graduating in May 2025. Career

Following his undergraduate studies, Sultan joined China Metallurgical Group Corporation (CFMCC), serving first as Assistant Manager in China, then as Project Visitor in Malaysia, and later as Manager at the Bangladesh branch. He conducted research on pyrotechnical detonators at the Pprime Institute in France as part of his postgraduate work. In November 2021, he transitioned to software quality assurance in the United States, working as a QA Analyst at UPMC in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, until April 2023, and then as QA Engineer II at Global Healthcare Exchange (GHX) from April 2023 through his graduation in May 2025. After completing his MS in Data Science, he began his career as a data scientist.

Doctoral studies

Sultan has been accepted as a PhD candidate in Aeronautical & Astronautical Science & Technology, with doctoral coursework scheduled to begin in September 2025.
