Mahabub Sultan (born January 1994) is a Bangladeshi aeronautical engineer, data scientist, and PhD candidate in Aeronautical and Astronautical Science and Technology. He has professional experience across multiple countries, including China, Malaysia, France, and the United States, and is recognized for his interdisciplinary research in artificial intelligence, aerospace engineering, and data analytics.

Early life and education

Mahabub Sultan was born in Noakhali and raised in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He pursued higher education internationally, beginning with a Bachelor of Engineering in Aeronautical Engineering at Northwestern Polytechnical University in Xi’an, China, graduating in 2016. He then earned a Master’s degree in Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering from the École nationale supérieure de mécanique et d'aérotechnique (ENSMA) in France in 2018.

In January 2024, he enrolled at SUNY Buffalo State University in New York, USA, to pursue a Master of Science in Data Science and Analytics, which he completed in May 2025.

Career

After completing his undergraduate studies, Sultan began working for the China Metallurgical Group Corporation (CFMCC). He served in various roles, including Assistant Manager in China, Project Visitor in Malaysia, and Manager in Bangladesh. During his postgraduate research in France, he conducted research on pyrotechnical detonators at the Pprime Institute.

In 2021, Sultan transitioned to the software and data industry in the United States. He worked as a QA Analyst at UPMC in Pittsburgh and later joined Global Healthcare Exchange (GHX) as a QA Engineer II. Following his graduation in data science, he began working professionally as a data scientist.

Doctoral studies

Sultan has been accepted as a PhD candidate in Aeronautical and Astronautical Science and Technology. His doctoral coursework is scheduled to begin in September 2025.

Research and publications

Sultan has authored and co-authored numerous papers focusing on artificial intelligence, data analytics, aerospace, and system security. His publications appear in journals such as IRE Journals, IJRPR, Zenodo, Al-Kindi Publishers, and others.
