Personal life

Louis Uyi Idehen (born 6 September 1984) is a Nigerian entrepreneur, information technology consultant, and cybersecurity specialist based in Beijing, China. He serves as an IT consultant and cybersecurity expert for the Embassy of the Republic of Uganda to China and is the Chief Executive Officer of SMSICT Solutions, a technology company that provides software development, cybersecurity, and digital-marketing services. Idehen is also the founder of NILINK Net, an artificial-intelligence-powered platform, and a co-founder of the Appreciate Africa Network, an organization that promotes African excellence and intercultural collaboration across the Asia–Pacific region through events such as the Pride of Africa Asia Pacific Awards.

Early Life

Idehen was born on 6 September 1984 in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria. He developed an early interest in computing and network technology, pursuing self-directed training before formal studies in Petroleum Engineering at the University of Benin in 2002. In 2016 he attended the Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU) in China to strengthen his technical and intercultural competence.

Career

Idehen began his professional career as a maintenance engineer with the Pipelines and Products Marketing Company (2010–2011), where he worked on infrastructure and systems maintenance for petroleum distribution. From 2011 to 2013 he joined Mobil Nigeria (Eket) as a maintenance engineer, supervising well-drilling operations and field maintenance activities. In 2017 Idehen moved into digital-technology development, working with Opera Software as a content editor and later product manager for the African market. He was part of the engineering and product-design team behind the Opera News App, which grew to serve more than 200 million users worldwide. Between 2015 and 2020 he coordinated several security-architecture projects in Nigeria, including work for the Delta State Government. In 2018 he and a team of developers designed Kure Coin, a blockchain-based cryptocurrency project. The following year he launched NILINK Meet AI, an online high-definition video-conferencing platform, and later expanded it into NILINK Network, a social-media and e-commerce hub. He also led development of NILINK AI, an artificial-intelligence chatbot system introduced in 2020. Since September 2022 Idehen has served as an IT specialist and consultant to the Government of the Republic of Uganda at its embassy in Beijing, focusing on cybersecurity architecture and digital-systems integration.

Public engagement

Through the Appreciate Africa Network, Idehen has supported initiatives that highlight African professionals and creatives living in Asia. He has been featured in regional media for contributions to diaspora engagement, youth empowerment, and Nigeria–China cultural and economic diplomacy.
