InnerBuddies is a Dutch biotechnology company specializing in gut microbiome analysis. History

InnerBuddies was founded in October 2021 in the Netherlands as a spin-off from the University of Maastricht. The company was established by Koen Venema, a professor at Maastricht University, along with Jella Theeuwen (dietitian), Joachim Schneider (former CEO of Bayer Vegetable Seeds), and Roy Lenders (ex-partner at Ernst & Young Advisory).

In April 2024, co-founder Jella Theeuwen left InnerBuddies. At the same time, Crysta Kriek and Fenna Sonnemans joined the management team.
