Fela Akinse (born January 19, 1989) is a Nigerian entrepreneur and inventor.[1][2] He is the founder of SALUBATA, a company that creates modular shoes from recycled plastic waste.[3][4][5]

Life and career

Fela Akinse was born and raised Lagos State, Nigeria.[6] He attended the University of Lagos, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Toxicology in 2013, and later completed a master’s degree in Environmental Toxicology and Pollution Management in 2016.[7][8][9][10][11]

After working as a business analyst and environmental scientist, Akinse founded SALUBATA, a company that manufactures modular shoes from recycled plastic waste.[12][13][14][15][16][17][18][19]

Akinse holds two patents, including one for a technology that converts carbon dioxide into oxygen and another for creating modular footwear from ocean-derived plastic waste.[20][21][22]

Personal life

Akinse is married to Yewande Akinse, an entrepreneur and author. The couple has one daughter.[23]
