Omkar Prasad Baidya(born in 1984) is an Indian doctor, philosopher, author, and faculty for Physiology at ESIC-PGIMSR and ESI Medical College, Joka, Kolkata, India.[1][2] He has written and published various books on moral philosophy, world peace, universal ethics, and morality. Through his books, he has acquainted people with the importance of human virtues in shaping lives and solving all human problems. He envisions bringing philanthropic change in the world via moral leadership. He introduced a new morality theory in his book ‘morality beyond the human brain: scientific and philosophical exploration’ where he designed an equation for intrinsic morality. [3][4][5][6][7][8]
In his book, “ a path to world peace” the author has shown how human virtues play important role in shaping human civilization and human lives.[1][8] He has also shown that universal religion can play important role in the establishment of peace throughout the world.[8] Universal religion should give importance to development of universal ethics, morality and human virtues in human beings. According to him, human virtues, like compassion, forgiveness, and nonviolence can form three pillars of world peace. In his another book on morality, he tried to introduce a new concept and theory of morality that is present in all living cells, which is important for the survival and existence of life on this planet and beyond. He has shown and introduced a mathematical model and an equation for intrinsic morality, which nature has given to all living creatures to win over the struggle for existence.[8] He has shown in his books that both morality and immorality are essential for our living on the earth and human extrinsic morality can be acquired through moral education, moral philosophy, and human values. According to him, world peace is a function of human morality.[1] In the nature and morality book, he tried to show that nature has a morality that helps in planning or programming the fundamental laws of the physical world.[8] He also emphasizes the existence of god as a moral planner of the cosmic world. [3][4][5][6][7][8] As a physician, he has feeling for suffering humanity and wants to see a peaceful world, which inclined him towards moral philosophy along with physiology and medical stream.
