Dr. Bashar Hawamdeh is a Jordanian technology entrepreneur and the founder and chief executive officer of Menaitech, a regional provider of human capital management and payroll software. He is known for building a localized HRMS platform tailored to the legal and operational requirements of countries across the Middle East and North Africa. [1]

Early life and career

Bashar Hawamdeh began his career in Jordan and launched Menaitech in 2003 in response to a market need for HR and payroll systems adapted to local regulations across the MENA region. He positioned the company to focus on localized compliance and country-specific features rather than reselling foreign systems. [2]

Menaitech

Under Hawamdeh’s leadership, Menaitech developed into a cloud-based HRMS and payroll provider serving clients across multiple countries in the MENA region. The company emphasizes localization of payroll and HR processes, integration with banks and insurance providers, and self-service modules for employees and managers. Menaitech reports serving a large regional client base and pursuing product lines that include HR, payroll, talent management, fintech payments and AI-enabled services. [3]

Leadership, roles and recognition

Hawamdeh has held several leadership and advisory roles in the region’s tech and academic communities. He has served as vice chairman of SourceitHR and as chairman of the ICT Association of Jordan (int@j). He has participated as a jury member for awards such as the Princess Basma Award and the Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah Informatics Award in Kuwait, and he holds board memberships in educational and humanitarian organizations. [4][5]

Sports and community involvement

Hawamdeh has been active in sports administration. He served as president of Al-Wehdat Sports Club during a period of organizational restructuring and was a vice president of the Jordan Triathlon Association. He is also associated with charitable and educational initiatives in the region. [6]

Writing

He is the author of the satirical novel Karaz wa Bitter Lemon (كرز وبترلمون).

Business philosophy and impact

Hawamdeh has described Menaitech’s mission as empowering organizations to manage human capital through localized, technology-driven solutions. He has emphasized building intellectual property locally, developing cloud-based services early, and maintaining strong product-market fit by working closely with clients during product development. Those principles guided the company’s early customer-funded growth model and its expansion across the region. [7]
