Cui Xiao Gang (sculptor)

Cui Xiao Gang (born 15 August 1980) is a Chinese sculptor specializing in marble carving. He lives and works in Quyang, Hebei Province, which is widely known as China's historical center for stone sculpture.

Early life and education

Cui was born in Quyang County, Hebei Province. From an early age, he was exposed to sculpture through his father and uncle, both skilled artisans in traditional Chinese stone carving. His formative training focused on drawing, engraving, and classical techniques using marble and other stone materials.

Career

Cui Xiao Gang’s work emphasizes traditional Chinese marble carving, often blending classical and modern elements. He is noted for his close attention to natural stone texture and form, allowing the raw material to influence the finished sculpture.

His sculptures often depict the human form, and his work is characterized by graceful lines, refined surfaces, and serene expressions.
