İbrahim Halil Öcalan

İbrahim Halil Öcalan (born 1982) is a Turkish businessman, writer, and sports executive. He is the founder and chairman of Sanax Holding and Sanax Enerji İnşaat A.Ş. In 2025, he became a board member and vice president of the Turkish football club Antalyaspor. He is also known as the author of the semi-autobiographical novel Nuriye Hanım.

Early life and career

Öcalan was born in 1982 in Ceylanpınar, Şanlıurfa Province, Turkey. He completed his primary and secondary education in his hometown before moving to Antalya. He started his business career at an early age, becoming involved in construction, energy, and industrial projects.

He is the chairman of Sanax Holding, which has conducted infrastructure and real estate development projects in several Turkish cities including Antalya, Ankara, İzmir, and Şanlıurfa. In 2023, he was awarded the “Entrepreneur of the Year” title by several Turkish media outlets.

Writing

In 2022, Öcalan published his debut novel, Nuriye Hanım, dedicated to his mother. The book portrays the themes of motherhood, struggle, love, and survival. It was published by Yediveren Publishing and became a national bestseller in Turkey. A second book is reportedly in progress and expected to be released in 2025.

Antalyaspor

In July 2025, following an extraordinary general assembly meeting, Öcalan was appointed to the board of directors of Antalyaspor A.Ş., one of Turkey’s Süper Lig football clubs. He currently serves as vice president of the club, representing business interests in its leadership structure.
