Javier Ruiz Blay obtained a Licenciado en Derecho (Licentiate in Law) from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, where he finished his law studies in February 2015.<br />
<br />
He completed his academic training with an internship within the programme of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation. He was assigned to the Political Section of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Spain in Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina).<br />

He also completed an International Legal English Certificate at the Centro de Estudios Garrigues between November 2013 and June 2014. The program focused on legal advisory services and preparation for the Cambridge Certificate in Legal English, and he achieved a C1 proficiency level.<br />

He also actively participates in various courses, both as a student and as a speaker, related to European and international criminal law, covering topics such as US law, the work of the CJEU and the ECHR on criminal law, and the defence of lawyers in the European Union.<br />
