Morris grew up in Tennessee, United States. He developed an early interest in science and medicine and published research in the Journal of Biological Chemistry before college. He was admitted to the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Humanities and Medicine program, but ultimately pursued a career in biotechnology and finance.

Gabriel attended Vanderbilt University in Tennessee for one year as a Vanderbilt University College Scholar before studying at Columbia University in the City of New York.
